Pakistan is currently facing a significant healthcare challenge with regards to diabetes. Recent reports indicate that Pakistan ranks number one in terms of diabetes prevalence in the world. The burden of this chronic condition is further exacerbated by the limited access to healthcare facilities, particularly in rural and remote areas. Many diabetic patients, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, struggle to receive timely screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management support.
Umar Diabetes Foundation (UDF) is a registered non-profit organization providing research based services in management of diabetes in Pakistan since 2020. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals affected by diabetes by providing them with comprehensive healthcare services, education, and support. Over the years, we have been actively engaged in raising awareness, conducting health camps, and offering free consultation, diagnostic services, and medicines to needy diabetic patients in Pakistan.
A Foundation setup for providing quality diabetic health care to the community, irrespective of the ability to pay, in an ethical, efficient, and sustainable environment. The institute will address the family and the community for their healthcare and well being, not just the disease. It will encompass health, not just medicine; and will target outcomes. To be acknowledged as a global leader through medical care, education, research, innovation and advocacy for cure and prevention of diabetes disease.
